Adding Overlays to Poliigon Material Converter-2
Now that you know how to use the Poliigon Material Converter to add materials to your objects, make them look more realistic by adding Imperfection Overlays.
You will find the Imperfection images in the 3D Anim/Imperfections folder on the server.
Add your overlay to the material nodes similar to the image below:
- Duplicate the Gloss Map, then delete the image in the duplicated node to add the imperfection image you want to use
- Add a Mix RGB node and change it to Screen (I renamed mine Gloss Screen)
- Connect the Invert and Gloss Imperfections (I renamed it) node as noted in the image
- Connect the Screen node to the Roughness input on the Principled shader
- OPTIONAL - You can add a Multiply (Math) node after the Screen node to better control the output if you like
